About

Mary Ryan is an Assistant Professor with joint appointments in the departments of Population Health Sciences and Biostatistics & Medical Informatics; she joined the UW-Madison as a faculty member in 2023. Dr. Ryan received her PhD (2021) and MS (2019) in Statistics from the University of California, Irvine, working under Dr. Daniel Gillen and collaborating with Dr. Josh Grill. She also received a BA in Statistics and Bachelor of Journalism (2016) from the University of Missouri. She has previously held positions as a Postdoctoral Associate in Biostatistics at Yale University and the Yale Center for Analytical Sciences working with Drs. Fan Li and Denise Esserman on pragmatic and cluster randomized clinical trial methodology. Her current research interests are in correlated data and the design and analysis of clinical trials, with applications to Alzheimer’s disease.
